Meet the Beat the Streets Bay Area Team!

In August, Beat the Streets Los Angeles and Beat the Streets Bay Area partnered to ensure the continuation and growth of wrestling-based youth development across Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose.

At the heart of this transition is a shared mission to use wrestling as a vehicle for opportunity, growth, and community connection.

I’m honored to step into the role of Executive Director for Beat the Streets Bay Area while continuing to lead Beat the Streets Los Angeles. The Bay Area is where my journey began, and I’m excited to work closely with the board of directors, alongside leaders like Olivia Olmedo, Jaden Abas, and our community partners, to strengthen and expand opportunities for young people. Together, we can ensure wrestling remains a powerful source of growth, resilience, and connection for youth across both regions."

— Yero Washington, Executive Director, Beat the Streets Los Angeles & Bay Area

The Team:

Olivia Olmedo, Associate Director of Operations:  a UC Berkeley graduate and proud first-generation college alum driving growth and collaboration across both regions.

Jaden Abas, Programs Assistant: Stanford alum and California wrestling standout dedicated to expanding access for youth athletes across the Bay.

Together, they’re strengthening the foundation for a brighter, more connected future for Beat the Streets Bay Area.
